Central Thermique

The Central Thermique was used to produce electricity from the highly toxic furnace gas of the neighboring furnaces. The electricity was intended for domestic and industrial use. Build in 1951, the Central Thermique has been closed on August, 29 in 1997, a day after the last furnace has been shut down.

Very impressive !
Beautiful effects and traitement. I like ! I imagine that it's pure infiltration ? Or had you permission ? This location seems to be a wonderful postindustrial place.

Hi, thank you for your comment! It is really a wonderful place and I did not have the permission to go there. But I don't consider it really as an infiltration because the CT is abandoned since 1997.

What a pleasure to spend this evening drinking in these otherworldly photos.

Thank you for the opportunity to do so. The Central Thermique sounds like a fine study in efficiency, burning toxic waste gases to produce electricity.

Sorry to see it closed. Delighted that you preserved it.

I explored this place back in September last year. Very nice, tho it took me almost 40 minutes of searching to find 'the way' into it lol. Great pics. I did the Terre Rouge as well and would have loved to see some of the Beval ARVED. Cheers!

very nice.
very nice photos. fisheyes and symmetry. I like the WB in the shots too. Too bad I don't live anywhere near Lux. This place burned blast furnace (steelmaking?) exhaust gas to produce electricity?
