Chateau du Lac

In the north of France remains a 16th century castle, one of the few reminders of that time in the region.

Built on the ruins of a castle of the 13th century, this castle is a tasty mixture of Renaissance architecture extended by more common buildings. The castle is surrounded by a large wooded park entirely on a small hill overlooking the village, the valley and a small lake. It is attracting interest because it is of significant size and is an almost unique architectural example.

Despite its rarity and its pleasant setting, this potential is not enough to attract promoters for restoration. And even worse, it is in private possession and there has been no restoration for several decades and now the roof begins to collapse. The deterioration is well advanced although you can only see it from its surroundings. It is highly regrettable that such a treasure goes gradually into oblivion and slowly disappears into indifference.

Surprising
First of all, very very nice pictures of course, the atmosphere is so "rusty" even if it's brick and wood, I like this effect.

I live in the north of France, what's funny is that I am a pro to discover hard abandonned places there which are usually very well hidden and this big castle, I never saw it anywhere I go. I must be damned ! hehe

Congrats anyway !
