Colliery Tausend Feuer

The history of this mine began 1902. The state of Prussia consolidated several mining concessions. That same year, the shafts 1 and 2 were sunk under the name "Colliers luck". 1905, the two shafts with stay frames went in operation.
In the eastern part two more shafts, "Tausend Feuer" 1 and 2 (fake names), were sunk in the year 1907 as a standalone system. In 1910 the colliery "Tausend Feuer" (fake name) started its operation, equiped with stay frames. Two years later, a coke plant was built.
In 1920 the extraction raised above the limit of 1 mio. tons of coal.
In 1961, the shafts "Colliers luck" 1 and 2 were taken over. The annual extraction raised above 3 million tons. 1968 a supplementary air shaft was sunken and the colliery was taken over by RAG. 1980/1981 a second air shaft was sunken.
From 1987-1991 the shaft "Tausend Feuer" was extended and got deeper.
In 1998, the colliery "Tausend Feuer" took over another colliery and changed its name.
In 1999 the second shaft, "Tausend Feuer 2" was filled.

On December 19th, 2008, the last trolley has been raised and the colliery has been closed. 1000 miners were distributed to six other mines, but about 200 stayed unemployed.

Thanks a lot! I have still some shots to process but I think this is the best shot I have made that day. There were awful light conditions and I have a lot of work in post processing.
