Visit of Zeche Tausend Feuer

This week-end the daylight saving time has been changed and I had arranged with Andy, Simone, Edy and Gennaro to visit a recently abandoned coal mine in Germany. We went up very early and met at 7 o'clock in the morning to start our trip. Due to the time change I went to bed earlier to be fit for that long trip and photo session the following day. We have planned our route well and also analysed the best way to get on the territory of the colliery. So, we arrived before 11 o'clock at the colliery and we have stayed for about 6 hours in the buildings taking some very nice pictures. Unfortunately we did not find the locker-room and the room where the miners lamps have been charged but I think these buildings were in use that day. The lamps were on in some of the smaller buildings and as we approached them we were seen by security guards. After a small chase and race we could escape them and leave the territory without being caught. That's the first time we decided to run instead of trying to negociate with the guards and I think it was a good idea because it was late and we had still a long trip back to Luxembourg. Waiting for the police and get arrested on a sunday after-noon is probably the worst thing that could have happened to us at this time because we were really tired and glad to drink a beer together and leave early to be at home at about 10 o'clock PM. Cool

The pictures can be found under Zeche Tausend Feuer in the Industrial Gallery. The name is fake in order to protect the place.

Woah, sounds like you had quite an eventful day there smilies/smiley.gif The first image is cool. I don't like the editing on the second photo, the yellows look too bright. The railings in the middle are also tilted to the left, I don't know whether it's the image or just bent metal.

Symmetry is pain! I was too quick and did not look correctly at the result. I used the warp tool to correct some lines and I didn't see that I have tilted a part of the middle of the picture. I have desaturated the yellows a little bit. Thank you! The image is most probably in your cache but if you right click it and open the link in a separate tab you may refresh it to see the new one.
